Michel’s story

Michel Mbilambila was born and raised in Dungu, Democratic Republic of Congo. His family was directly impacted by the L.R.A. raid that took place in the village in 2008. Michel got connected to Restoring Hope Ministry through the CECA-20 Church, the local Congolese church that is partnered with Restoring Hope Ministries.

Michel is married to Esperance and they have five children. He has a degree in agriculture and was hired by Restoring Hope Ministries in 2016 as the Executive Assistant. Using his expertise in agriculture, Michel has developed a plan for the agriculture project of the ministry. The plan took its first steps in 2018 when Michel oversaw the planting of several acres of vegetation. The harvest was successful and Michel is currently working with a team of men and women to scale the agricultural operations to provide food for The Hope House, The University of Batissons l'Espoir in Central Africa (UBECA), and the community at large!

In addition to his passion for agriculture, Michel has a gift in composing songs and leading choral groups for worship services. Inspired by the Biblical and evangelical approach of UBECA, Michel recently composed the school song which the students and professors love to sing. Michel is a living example of a life transformed from the travesty of the L.R.A. raid to a life lived with purpose and passion through training and sustainability.
