February 2010

Jeremiah 17:7
“ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

Dear Friends and Partners,

I hope that the following updates encourage and bless you.  I cannot express how grateful I am to all of you who support this ministry.  God has been moving in such awesome and mighty ways that even as I write them I can hardly take it all in.   We are being overtaken by blessings!  What an awesome privilege to be God’s hands extended and share His love to the hurting, poor and needy.   I can think of no greater reward.  As you read the updates may the Lord bless you and may your hope be renewed today!

Missions Update:

I want to thank everyone who has donated medical supplies for the Haiti relief efforts. The response for “Operation Hope for Haiti” has been unbelievable.  We have been collecting medical supplies for Love A Child Inc., which is located in Haiti.   On average we have been shipping 2-3 boxes a week full of various medical supplies.   A special thanks to my employer, Paul Zackin of Zackin Publications Inc. for picking up the shipping cost to get these boxes to the Love A Child warehouse in Florida.  We also want to thank an area company that deals in medical supplies.  They donated us a skid full of medical supplies weighing over 400lbs., and shipped it directly to Florida for us from their North Carolina facility.   What a blessing both these Company’s have been to us!  Our “Diaper Drive of Hope” that kicked off the New Year also continues to send diapers to Love A Child for their Malnutrition Clinic, as well as aiding in the earthquake relief efforts.  To date we have shipped almost 2000 diapers.   Since the quake Love A Child has literally become a Hospital Compound and Tent City, feeding and caring for hundreds of injured and displaced people every day.  Please keep them in prayer. Donations of medical supplies and diapers are still being collected by RHM.  Click here to read daily journal updates from Haiti.

Project Update:  The HOPE Center is Opening Soon!

Wow!  I have been waiting to write that line for 10 years!  We are about to open “The Hope Center” for adults in a low-income housing development in Ansonia, CT.  God has provided us free office space in the place where we have already been ministering for the past year.  The Hope Center will provide a comfortable setting for participants and be a resource center that will include three computer stations, GED and job skill materials, basic computer training, support and encouragement groups for parenting and other family issues, and will also include an information board with resources for addiction and abuse help, etc.

There is also second room for the young children who accompany the adults that will be equipped with toys, books, and DVD’s.   We are so excited about this opportunity to offer hope and show the love of God in practical ways.   Please pray with us as we continue to get everything in place.  Click here to see a list of items we need to help us equip the center.
