October/November 2009 Dear Friends, As the season of Thanksgiving
draws upon us, may we remember all the blessings the Lord has given us and
may we find a way to share them with others who have not yet tasted the
goodness of God. May the Lord bless
you and may your hope be renewed today! Cheryl A. Botelho, Director A Word of
Hope – We Are Blessed! Deuteronomy
33:29 Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people
saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your
enemies will cower before you, and you will trample down their high places. When the Bible
speaks of Israel, it speaks of those who belong to the Lord and that includes
all of us who have become part of God’s chosen people through our faith in Jesus Christ. As the word declares, “we have been adopted
into His family”. As children of God
we are blessed! We are people saved
by the Lord. The word
“saved” means to rescue from harm, danger, or loss. To set free from the
consequences of sin; redeem. God has
redeemed us from our sinful condition by forgiving our sin. He has rescued us from the enemy who once
had us bound in sin. We no longer
need to fear our enemy the devil. Instead
he fears us because we belong to God and we now have the Authority in His
Name to trample him. God has become
our shield and our helper. And He has
become our sword. As our Shield
he protects us from the enemy’s attacks.
As our Helper He gives us the strength to withstand the battle and as
our Sword He becomes our weapon to strike back the enemy and claim
victory. There are no other people so
blessed as those who belong to the Lord. Are you
blessed today! Has the Lord saved
you? If yes, then do not be afraid of
the enemy. Greater is He that is in
you than He that is in the world! (1 John 4:4) Quote of
the Month: “God will never lead you where His grace can’t keep you.” Daily Dose
