July 2009 Dear Friends, We often forget that Peter did
indeed walk on the water. It was only when his eyes got off the Savior and
onto the storm that he began to sink.
So remember, keeping your eyes on the Lord will allow you to walk on
top of your storm and not sink beneath it.
May the Lord bless you and may your hope be renewed today! Cheryl A. Botelho, Director A Word of
Hope – Sovereign Control! Psalm 103:19 The LORD has
established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all. Have you ever felt out of control? Has it ever seemed as if everything around you was out of
control? Control is something that
all of us like to have. We like to
know what’s going to happen next. We
like to have the final answer in issues that pertain to us. But the truth is, as much as we don’t like
it – life cannot be controlled by us.
We do not always know how things will turn out and we rarely have the
final answer to our problems. When
things seem beyond our control it can cause us to have anxiety and
fears. It can make us feel hopeless
and lost.
But what a comfort it is to know that nothing is beyond God’s
control. God is the Sovereign Ruler
over our lives. The word
“sovereign” means: 1.One that exercises supreme, permanent
authority, 2.Royal rank, authority, or
power. 3.Complete independence and self-government.
God operates completely independent of man’s ways- -He is not governed
by man-made laws and rules. In all
things it is the Lord who has the final word. There is no one above Him.
He has the supreme and final authority in our lives and all that
pertains to it. His Word Rules! When the devil tells us we are down for
the count, it is God who says. “I will give them the strength to go on”. When the world tells us that we will never
amount to anything, it is God who says, “They can do all things through my
Son Jesus”. When a trial seems like
it has destroyed us, it is God who says, “I will work all things together to
make this turn out for good.” No
matter what the devil or others may say about anything in your life, remember
that it is God who has the final say.
Does your life seem out of control?
Put your trust in the Lord. He
knows exactly what’s going on and He has your best interest in mind. He will have the final Word! Quote of
the Month: “Don’t tell God how big
your storm is…Tell the storm how BIG your God is!” Daily Dose
