2009 Riverside Basketball Tournament &
Outreach
On Saturday, October 10, 2009 RHM partnered with the Living Hope Church, Bridges Ministry and the Tenants Association to coordinate a basketball tournament at the Olson Drive apartments. Throughout the course of the day we estimate about 150 people joined us. We offered free clothing, food, and lots of free give-a-ways. A clown and face painting were provided for the younger kids. The whole day was full of fun. About 25 Jr. & Senior High students played in the tournament. Our half-time program included two drama numbers by the Promise Land drama team and several hands were raised as Pastor Randy of Living Hope Church shared a word of hope and gave an invitation for salvation. We ended the day with a Martial Arts demonstration, followed by the final championship game with prizes and trophies. We thank everyone who came out to volunteer with us and share the Love of God. The Lord definitely blessed the day! Ansonia CT Outreach A Tremendous Blessing! On Saturday August 8, 2009 RHM and a group of volunteers from Promise Land Church of God, along with several other area churches united to pour out the Love of God in Ansonia Ct. The outreach was centered in the middle of a housing project where 2 women had been murdered over the last two months. The event was filled with gospel music, preaching, testimonies and lots of food. Between 2 and 3 hundred people came out during the day’s activity to partake of the event. Those who attended and volunteered were amazed at the turnout. It was definitely a united expression of the Body of Christ in action. RHM Ships Medical Supplies to Clinic in HaitiDuring the month of July, RHM collected and sent 2 large
boxes of medical supplies to the "Love A Child" ministry in Haiti.
These supplies are used in their clinic, as well as their mobile clinics that
reach into the villages across the country of Haiti. We are in the process of
shipping two more boxes in the next month and hope to continue this on a
regular basis as the donations come in to us. "Restore the Dream" provides 100 Backpacks to Inner-city kids!RHM recently collected and filled over 100 school
backpacks through its "Restore the Dream" project. This project
gives away free backpacks to inner-city kids and other kids in need
throughout the community area, helping them get a good start to the school
year. Each backpack is stocked full of school supply items that have been
donated by RHM supporters. |
