		March 27 My Provider
	Psalm 23:1 The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.
	Sheep are very needy animals and to be in want or in need is a very helpless feeling. On their own they are incapable of taking care of themselves and often require special attention. Their survival is dependent upon their shepherd’s care. Like sheep, it reminds us that we too cannot live our lives in seclusion of others either. We are also needy and require care. But how wonderful to know that like a Shepherd, God in His infinite love for us, is our all-sufficient provider. He takes care of us like a shepherd. Because He loves me I shall never want or be in need. This does not mean that He gives me everything I want. It means that He will give me everything I need. There are things we may want that are not best for us. God in His wisdom knows what we really need and he will be sure to provide only what is best for us. And like a shepherd, who loves his sheep He always keeps a watchful eye on us. At any given moment He is aware of where we are and what we need. We are never out of his sight. When I trust the Lord to be my shepherd I have the security of knowing I belong to his flock. He is my shepherd and I am his sheep. I can be free from being needy or wanting because I know that the Lord will meet my needs the same way a shepherd meets the needs of his sheep. I no longer need to feel helpless. Whatever I have need of I can be sure that my Shepherd will provide it. Even needs that may seem impossible are not too difficult for God to meet. His resources and abilities are not limited by the boundaries of this world. He will provide all of our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) Can you say with confidence that the Lord is your Shepherd? Are you secure in knowing that you are a sheep in His pasture? Do you know that He always has you in His sight? Do you trust that He will supply all of your needs? Be encouraged today. If you belong to the Lord then you are a sheep of great value to him. God loves you very much and will provide for you always. If you are not sure He is your Shepherd, ask him now by faith to become your Lord and Savior. Ask him to forgive your sins and wash you clean. At the moment you accept his gift of salvation you will become a sheep in his pasture. Prayer Suggestion: Father, you are the Shepherd and I am one of your sheep. Thank you for caring for me and supplying all me needs. Back to March
